Bounties

Put a price on a head — and let the city do the rest.

Can't reach someone yourself? Pay the city to. A bounty is a public purse on a player's head, and it comes in two flavors: a beat bounty, paid to whoever hospitalizes the target, and a kill bounty, paid to whoever ends them. The board is public — being listed on it changes how a player sleeps.

Placing one

RuleDetail
CurrencyCash or $CRIME — your choice.
MinimumScales with the target’s level: $100,000 per level in cash, or 1,000 $CRIME per level.
AnonymityA flat 1,000 $CRIME — whatever the bounty is worth, and whichever currency funds it — and your name never appears on the contract.
The noteYou can attach a public reason. The city appreciates drama.
PayoutThe claimant collects automatically on the qualifying beat or kill; the house keeps 10%.

Living with a price on your head

Bounties stack — several enemies can fund the same head, and a fat combined purse turns acquaintances into hunters. Your options: live carefully (the safe house exists for a reason), wait it out, or buy the contract off: the target can pay 3× a bounty's value to have it removed. Painful arithmetic, by design — it should always hurt more to erase a contract than to place one.

Placers can cancel their own bounty while it's unclaimed, but it's not a clean reversal: you get 90% of the principal back — the house keeps its 10% cut — and any anonymity fee you paid stays burned.

Bounty etiquette
An anonymous bounty says "I want them hurt." A signed one says "I want them to know it was me." Both get read exactly as intended.
