Garage & Car Theft

Five districts, rising stakes — and a garage full of what you got away with.

Every crew job needs a getaway car and every race needs a machine — the garage is where they come from. You can attempt theft in any of the city's five districts; there is no level gate, but each step up costs more stamina and is much harder. Success is a blend of muscle, brains, and above all driving skill — and every attempt builds it, whether or not you drive away in anything. A clean getaway teaches you the most; a night that ends in cuffs still teaches you something.

The districts

TierDistrictStaminaDriving skill gain
1Ironvale Scrap District10%+1
2Southside Projects20%+2
3Downtown Financial District30%+3
4Emerald Heights Estates40%+4
5Hollywood Villas50%+5

Higher districts spawn better cars — and meaner consequences. Fail in the Scrap District and you'll usually just walk away; fail in Hollywood and the split is heavily jail-or-hospital. Driving skill is your escape artist, and it is judged against the district you chose rather than in the absolute: the wheelman who owns the Projects is still a tourist in Hollywood. Work a district until it knows your name and a bad night there ends with you slipping away instead of in cuffs.

A district can pay out above its own class, but only so far. Nobody has ever left the Scrap District in a supercar and nobody ever will — the best it holds is a Downtown sedan, and the Projects stop one rung higher. The exotics are parked in the last two districts only, and the more a car is worth the less often it is sitting there when you arrive: a Bugatti or a Batmobile is a story you tell for the rest of the season, not a night's work.

Condition, repairs, and selling

Stolen cars arrive damaged — a better thief delivers a cleaner car, so driving skill is worth money before you ever race. Repairs cost a share of the car's base value proportional to the damage, and the exotic tiers cost more per point to put right. A car sells for less the rougher its condition, so the margin is: steal clean, repair cheap, sell high, or keep the best wheels for yourself.

Garage space scales with your level (10 slots per level). Cars are also stakes: they can be committed to crew jobs, damaged in races, and lost outright in a pink-slip race.
